Unifor and CUPE Members rallied in support of Toyota workers’ drive to get a union

Workers from Unifor and CUPE joined together and rallied in support of a drive to organize Toyota workers at manufacturing plants in Woodstock and Cambridge. The Toyota workers within these plants have been leading the efforts and are on their way in gaining support for unionization.

A few Toyota workers themselves took the podium and spoke about personal reasons for wanting to organize together, and they outlined some of the main issues that have garnered support to bring “fairness and human rights” into the workplace.

Jerry Dias, National President of Unifor was one of many familiar faces at the rally. He outlined a few of the positives to joining a union and welcomed Toyota workers to the Unifor family.

CUPE National President, Paul Moist said together we are on our way to building a bigger, better, stronger labour movement.
